Closing the books at 1,180 locations for operators like

Three days, not three weeks.

The close starts the moment the month ends. Here is what happens, and when.

  1. Day 1

    Feeds land, rules run.

Every entity's bank feed and card settlement is in by 4:00 AM CT. Tally matches each line to a bill, a journal or a transfer using the rules it learned from last month.

    Sep 1 · 4,982 of 5,214 lines matched

  2. Day 2

    You review what's left.

The exceptions queue holds the rows Tally would not guess at — a duplicate invoice, a deposit split across two days. Most controllers clear it before lunch.

    Sep 2 · 31 exceptions · cleared 11:40 AM CT

  3. Day 3

Intercompany nets out, the seal goes down.

Transfers between your entities net to zero across the group, the consolidated P&L posts to your ledger, and the month is stamped closed.

    Sep 3 · Books closed · 6:12 AM CT

One group, twelve entities, nothing counted twice.

A commissary bill paid by three locations shows up on four sets of books. Tally matches every side of it and eliminates the transfers at the group level, so the consolidated numbers are right the first time.

Transfers net to zero, on their own
Every due-to has a due-from. Tally pairs them across entities and posts the elimination before you open the consolidated report.
Each LLC keeps its own books
The bank, the landlord and the tax preparer each see one entity's ledger. The group view rolls up without a spreadsheet in between.
Your ledger stays the source of truth
Tally posts to QuickBooks, Sage Intacct or NetSuite, entity by entity. Nothing important lives only in Tally.

How Tally reads a bank line.

Six things a controller would otherwise do by hand — and the log line each one leaves behind, because a match you cannot explain is not a match.

Amount, date and memo, weighed together
A $4,812.40 ACH on the 1st matches INV 20931 even when the memo reads GRNDFDS and the bill is dated the 29th.
match · INV 20931 · 3 signals · confidence 0.98
Card settlements split by day
One deposit for three days of sales is matched to three sales journals, net of processor fees, with the fee booked where it belongs.
split · SJ 0901–0903 · fees $412.18 → 6210
Rules that learn from your corrections
Recode a vendor once and the next hundred lines follow. Every rule shows who set it and when.
rule · CORBETT LINEN → 6120 Linen · R. Vasquez
Duplicates held, not paid
A bill two managers both entered is held in exceptions with the copies side by side, before anything goes out.
held · INV 7741 · 2 copies · $1,296.15
Intercompany eliminated at the group
Every transfer between your entities is paired with its other side and eliminated before the consolidated P&L runs.
eliminate · IC 0447 · $12,000.00 · net $0.00
An audit trail your CPA can read
Each matched line links to the bank line, the bill image and the person who approved the exception.

A sunlit pizzeria dining room set for lunch service

We used to close on the fourteenth if nothing went wrong. September closed on the third, and I found out from the seal, not from my team.

Questions a controller asks first.

The short answers. The long ones are a call away.

Ask us something else
Which accounting systems does Tally post to?

QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct and NetSuite, entity by entity. Tally reads your chart of accounts and never creates an account on its own.

How do the bank feeds get in?

Direct connections to about 11,000 US banks and card processors. Feeds refresh overnight and again at 11:00 AM CT for late settlements.

What happens to a line Tally can't match?

It goes to the exceptions queue with Tally's best guesses attached. You match it, split it or code it, and the rule you make applies next month.

How long does setup take for a dozen entities?

Most groups are live in about two weeks. Tally imports your last three closed months to learn the vendors before the first live close.

Does Tally replace our bookkeeper?

No. It replaces the two weeks a bookkeeper spends matching lines. The review, the judgment calls and the sign-off stay with a person.

How is pricing structured?

Per entity, per month, with no per-location fee. A group of twelve entities usually lands under $900 a month; the pricing page has the exact numbers.

Close this month on the third.

Connect one entity's bank feed this afternoon and Tally will match your last closed month while you watch. No card and no contract until you are ready to seal one.
